26 weeks: Nursery!

My parents, Angie and Eric all came to visit this weekend to help with the nursery! My sister is a great artist and she painted some murals in the baby's room!  We are doing his room in a western theme!  The furniture isn't here yet and should be any day.  If you're wondering what the blue tape on the floor is, it is where we are putting all of the furniture!  Here are a few more pictures from the weekend:

Once the furniture gets here I will put up some better pictures!

Here are a couple pictures of me, it has been awhile since I have posted any, it seems like my belly is getting bigger and bigger by the day!

I had my monthly appointment this past Monday, I have my glucose tolerance test.  This is a test that the Dr gives you to see if you have gestational diabetes.  I had to drink this really sugary orange drink then hang out at the Dr's for an hour then they took my blood.  I haven't heard anything back from them, so that means I must have passed and I do not have gestational diabetes!  Things are starting to go by so quickly, I am almost into my third trimester.  I am starting to get a little uncomfortable here and there, I have noticed that I cannot do things like I used to.  I get worn out just cleaning the house.   The baby has become more and more active, I was laying on the floor in the nursery while my sister was painting and my mom could see him kicking and moving around in there! I have still been trying to make it to the gym when I can but we have been busy!  We have interviewed one potential childcare provider and we have two more interviews next week.  I am hoping after next week we will have that all taken care of.

22 Weeks: Its a boy!!

I'll start off with our ultrasound pictures from last week!

Here is the profile of our little man!  He decided he was going to lay face down in my stomach that morning so the ultrasound tech, couldn't get a good picture of his face.
Here are the bottoms of his little feet!
It is definitely a boy!!
Here is another one of his foot.

We were so excited about our appointment last week.  We were thrilled to know that baby is healthy and growing great!  We were so shocked when she told us that it's a boy!  For some reason Nick and I both had it in our heads that the baby was going to be a girl, surprise!!  Nick and I are so excited to be having a little boy and absolutely cannot wait until May to meet him.

This weekend we made a trip to Babies R Us to get our registry started.  I was so overwhelmed at everything there was to decide on.  I started doing research  a couple weeks ago on things like strollers, car seats, swings, etc.  There were also so many adorable little clothes there, I would have bough him one of everything if I could :)  All of the little summer clothes are out already which is perfect for us since he will hopefully be born Memorial Day weekend.  Here is a picture of the couple little onesies we got him.  You can't read the writing on them but some of them say "Future Quarterback", "Handsome like Daddy", and "Property of Mom".

I have been feeling pretty great overall still, the heartburn has hit with full force and I am still a bit tired every now and then.  Nick and I have been going to the gym 3-4 times a week still and I am hoping his will help me be able to bounce back after having the little guy.  I can't believe how fast this is starting to go, I am starting to feel overwhelmed with things that need to be done!  We haven't even started on the nursery but that is the next project.  I have still been feeling lots of kicks and movement and I enjoy every minute of it!

Here is a picture of me at 22 weeks, I feel a lot bigger than I look for some reason.  My cheeks are starting to become quite chubby..

20 weeks: Halfway!!!!!

It is hard to believe that I am already halfway through this pregnancy!  Lately, time has been going so fast.

The past two weeks I have been feeling the baby move!  At first I wasn't quite sure what it was.  It kind of felt like just gas bubbles in my stomach.  But the more that it kept happening the more I could tell what it was!  I have only felt actual kicks a couple times and I could actually feel them with my hand on my stomach from the outside!  The first time I felt it was at about 4 one morning when I turned over in bed.  Just about 4 taps is all I felt then it went away!  It was pretty awesome!  I look forward to being able to feel them more often!  Nick didn't get to feel it and he is excited to feel it for the first time too!

Only one week until I have my next sonogram at the doctors!  Nick and I are both so excited to see the baby and to make sure he/she is nice and healthy!  Oh yea, and hopefully we will find out whether baby Gehrts is a boy or a girl! :)

19 weeks: Baby Furniture

Happy New Year!!  It is hard to believe that it is already 2011, where did 2010 go?!

We finally bit the bullet and ordered the baby's furniture this week.  I had been doing a lot of research online and finally found one that Nick and I both liked!  I did some searching on Babies R Us, JCPennys, and Target.  I found a lot of collections that I liked but I kept coming back to one set in particular.  I was just having a hard time ordering something because we hadn't seen any of them in person.  After talking to a couple people at work, I found a small place here in Bloomington that sells baby furniture.  They had the set that we both really liked but of course, they too, didn't have it in person.  The lady at the store said this particular set was on clearance and the sale was going to be over on December 30.  After hearing what a great deal it was we decided to go ahead and order it!  Here is a picture of it:

We both really liked the black, we thought it would be good for a girl or a boy. It should be here within 6-8 weeks!  We are thinking about ripping up the carpet in the baby's room and putting down wood laminate flooring like we have throughout the whole upstairs of the house.  The color of the flooring is actually the same color that is in the picture above.  I think it will look so good with the black furniture!  We definitely have a lot of work to do before that furniture arrives :)

Only 2 weeks until I get to have my ultrasound to see the baby.  We are hoping for a healthy baby and are ecstatic to know what the gender is!  It is hard to believe that after this upcoming week I will be halfway through this pregnancy already!  I have been feeling great the past couple of weeks, but I have noticed that my appetite has definitely increased.  I have gotten back to the gym as well and it feels awesome.

18 weeks!

It has been a couple weeks since I have posted!  Things have been crazy around here with the holidays!  I had my last appointment on December 15.  It wasn't anything big but the Dr measured my belly and everything is right on track!  We also got to listen to the heartbeat again.  Nick was able to make it to this appointment so that was really nice!  My next appointment is on January 17 and that is when I have my sonogram!  Not only will we hopefully find out the gender but we will also find out if the baby is nice and healthy!

There really isn't anything new going on as far as the pregnancy goes, I am starting to finally get a little belly and am starting to finally really feel pregnant.  I haven't been as tired as I was the first couple of weeks but I am definitely not back to my normal self.  My clothes are becoming tighter and tighter and that makes finding something to wear every morning become more challenging!

We have started looking at furniture for the nursery and have started thinking of ideas on how we're going to decorate it.  We are thinking of taking up the carpet in there and laying wood floor that matches the floor that is all throughout the upstairs of the house.  I am ready to get the nursery decorated and ready to start buying things for the little one!

We had a great Christmas in Ohio with my family and it is hard to believe next Christmas Baby Gehrts will be here!  My sister Angie got engaged and her and Eric are planning a desitnation wedding for early 2012, we are so happy the baby will be able to join us on the trip!!  We are so happy for Angie and Eric and wish them nothing but the best!

Here are a couple pictures from the weekend:

15 weeks: Bella's going to be a big sister!

I don't really have much to report but thought I would just post a picture since I haven't done a post in a couple of weeks!  Bella decided to join me in my picture this week, I'm not sure how happy she's going to be about having to share all the attention she gets!

My next doctors appointment isn't until December 17, so there probably won't be many updates until then!  I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Hello Second Trimester : 13 weeks

It is hard to believe I am on to my second trimester!  The first month of this pregnancy went so slow but as time goes on it seems to be going faster and faster!  After having my second doctors appointment earlier this week we were told that we should be able to find out the gender of our little peanut sometime around New Years!  Nick and I are both very excited to find out what baby Gehrts is going to be, as long as he/she is healthy we will be happy with either a boy or a girl.  Once we find out, I'm sure I will be ready to get that nursery going :)

I think I had my first experience of "pregnancy brain" this week.  After reading all about it, I was still skeptical and didn't believe it would happen to me..yea right!  I had to fill out some insurance paper work before my appointment on Monday so I had called our health insurance to get some questions answered.  The lady asked me to verify my address and phone number so she could be sure it was me that she was talking to.  I quickly drew a blank and had NO IDEA what my address was!!!  I stalled by giving her my phone number hoping it would give my mind a minute to come up with our address.  It finally came to me but once I told her I honestly was not sure if it was even correct!  If this is what is to come the next 7 months, I am in trouble!!!!!

Other than our appointment this week and hitting 13 weeks, there is not much more to report.  Oh yea, except I am REALLY looking forward to Thanksgiving this year, not just for the warm weather out west but anything involving food these days, is such an excitement! :)
